Iranian Christian Women Acquitted! Print E-mail

Maryam and MarziehTwo Iranian women, Maryam Rustaampoor and Marzieh Amirizadeh spent 256 days in an Iranian prison because they converted from Islam to Christianity. Charged with apostasy, they were harshly treated, kept in solitary confinement, and endured extended interrogations, but they refused recant their faith in Christ.

Maryam and Marzieh were released a few months ago, and received badly needed medical treatment, but were awaiting trial.

We asked you to contact the State Department and urge them to pressure Iran to stop these human rights violations. Now, because of the intense pressure and expore, the two women were acquitted. Maryam and Marzieh have been taken to a safe country where they can practice their faith without fear of harm.

Praise God for this victory and for Christians coming to the aid of these brave Christian women. It’s exciting to see what a difference we can make together.
