Dancing Obama Denies Christ Again Print E-mail

In a recent article about Obama's faith, Newsweek reports that Obama reiterated his position that he is a "Christian" who rejects the idea that Jesus is the only way of salvation. Obama throws Christ under his campaign bus as he denies Christ is the only Savior of the World.

"It is a precept of my Christian faith that my redemption comes through Christ, but I am also a big believer in the Golden Rule, which I think is an essential pillar not only of my faith but of my values and my ideals and my experience here on Earth," Newsweeks reports that Obama said. "I've said this before, and I know this raises questions in the minds of some evangelicals. I do not believe that my mother, who never formally embraced Christianity as far as I know … I do not believe she went to hell. My particular set of beliefs may not be perfectly consistent with the beliefs of other Christians."

Obama rightly understands his faith is questionable and not Christian. That's why he says his faith raises questions. But his faith is not only inconsistent with other Christians, it is inconsistent with Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Why would you say you are a Christian then denounce the teachings of Christ and the founders of the Christian Church? While it is very troubling to consider that anyone, especially a family member, might be in Hell, what really matters is what God has revealed, not what Obama wants to be true.

Below are a few examples from the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles that prove salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone.

John 3:16-19:  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

The scandal of John 3:16 is that a perfectly Holy God would love a world filled with rebellious, guilty sinners. Rev. Samuel Davies, the great apostle to Virginia said, "This earth is a rebellious province of Jehovah's dominions, and therefore if his Son should ever visit it, one would think it would be as an angry judge, or as the executioner of his Father's vengeance. But, O astonishing! God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. Hence the terms of life and death are thus fixed. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

The problem is man's refusal to admit his true spiritual condition. John 3:36:"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

The only antidote to mankind's death sentence is the blood of Christ shed at the cross.

  • Hebrews 9:22: "without shedding of blood is no remission (of sin)."
  • Lev 17:11: "it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul."

No other major world religion provides what a just and Holy God requires: a bloody atonement for sin.

The offence of the cross is threefold! You must humbly admit that God is really who the Bible reveals him to be, perfectly holy. Then you must loathe your sin and humbly confess that you are a guilty sinner, justly condemned and utterly unable to save yourself. You must humbly believe on Jesus Christ alone to save you by his perfect life, atoning death and triumphant resurrection. This is the gospel.

Jesus repeatedly taught he was the only source and giver of eternal life.

John 5:21: "the Son also gives life to whom He wishes. 23… He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24… he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."

John 6:40: "everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life"

John 6:47: "he who believes in Me has everlasting life."

John 8:12: "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness…"

John 10:9: "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved…"

John 10:27&28: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand."

John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man cometh unto the father, but by me."

John 17:3: "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

The Apostles proclaimed that Jesus was the only Savior and Lord, even though by doing so it brought persecution and death.

John 6:22f: "You alone have the words of eternal life!"

Acts 2:38: "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…"

Acts 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Acts 10:42-43: "It is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins."

Rom 1:16: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes… "

1 Timothy 2:5-6: "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time."

1 John 5:11-12: "And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life."

Rev 7:9-12: "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'"

In the end, no one else receives worship for salvation except God the Son, Jesus Christ, the conquering Lamb- no Buddha, no Mohammed, no Krishna, only Christ.

Here is the problem for Obama and those who agree with him. If there was any other way for man to be saved, why would God the Father send His Only Son, the eternal object of his perfect love, to die on a cross?

According to the Bible and historic Christian theology, the death of Christ was absolutely necessary. Otherwise, the harsh life and cruel death of Jesus Christ to save sinners is either a lie or the most horrific act of unnecessary cruelty in history. Christians have always believed faith in Christ was absolutely necessary.

Jesus is the only Savior of the world! To say otherwise is…

  • to reject the most loving act of all time, God sending his only Son to save sinners;
  • to deny God's perfect holiness and to minimize our utter sinfulness;
  • to despise God's righteous laws and to mock God’s justice and wrath;
  • to negate the sublime beauty of Christ's perfect life, atoning death and triumphant resurrection;
  • to defame Christ as a false prophet;
  • to nullify the witness and death of Christ's disciples along with all the blood of the martyrs;
  • to trivialize the sacrifice, evangelism and missionary work of Christ's church of the past 2000 years!

Jesus is the only Savior of the world! To declare this Gospel until the whole world knows is the glory and duty of Christ's church. Either Obama is right and Christ is just a way of salvation, or Christ is right, he is the absolute only way. I recommend the Word's of Christ over the words of any person, especially those of politicians trying to pander to voters.
